Street Teams

Street Teams are student-run, creative collaborations within ComArtSci. Interdisciplinary groups of students partner with nonprofit organizations and assist them with media projects. They have real-world learning opportunities while giving back to the community.

Mission statement

The MidMichigan Environmental Action Council’s mission is to improve environmental stewardship in MidMichigan, helping to preserve our natural resources through education, advocacy, and volunteerism.

The work

The team was asked to help increase social media communications and develop educational materials for two campaigns: green infrastructure and ten thousand trees.

Deliverables

Create a social media plan with individualized templates and campaigns for education, advocacy and volunteerism. Then, animate two videos. The first illustrated how green infrastructure is accessible to property owners and helps the environment. The second shows why trees and photosynthesis are important. It’s a call to action and encourages community members to plant trees.
