Writing Center

The Writing Center provides one-on-one and group writing consultations, various writing-specific workshops, as well as writing groups.

Math Learning Center

The Math Learning Center provides free tutoring for MTH 1825, MTH 100 and 200 level courses, as well as some upper-level math courses. In addition to tutoring, the MLC also offers practice tests, group study sessions, exam review, an online tutoring in selected courses.

Tutoring and Academic Help Rooms

The MSU Tutoring and Academic Help Rooms provide tutoring on topics like math skills, reading skills, study skills and more. Plus, they also offer help on topics like chemistry, writing, statistics and English as a second language.

Office of Financial Aid

The Office of Financial Aid is a resource for students seeking assistance with their tuition and/or cost of living through their college career. They are able to talk with advisors in the OFA about scholarships and grants, student loans, work-study, education savings plans, and education tax credits.

Counseling Center

The Counseling Center is focused on helping students with mental health issues. They offer individual and group counseling to any currently enrolled MSU student. The homepage of the Counseling Center’s website lists walk-in hours, which is the first step in getting a student connected with a counselor. If a student is in crisis, it is advised that they be escorted to the counseling center by a faculty or staff member.

The Office of Supportive Services provides comprehensive services to first-generation, low-income college students, or those who may have a disability. They help support academic achievement and personal goals of students.

Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities

The Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities works to maximize the ability and opportunity for persons with disabilities. They assess and document disability, academic, and workplace needs, while building individual plans for reasonable accommodations. In addition, they work to link individuals with technology, education, and resources.

Office of Cultural and Academic Transitions (OCAT)

OCAT supports individual students in their navigation of cross-cultural encounters, and in their own understanding, exploration and development of cultural identity. OCAT has built alliances with peoples, programs, and ideas throughout the university. They help students better understand themselves and others through cultural, social, and academic activities.

MSU Safe Place (Relationship Violence and Stalking Program)

MSU Safe Place is a program that addresses relationship violence and stalking. They provide advocacy, emergency shelter, counseling, support groups, safety planning, information and referrals to survivors of violence and their minor children.

Listening Ear Crisis Intervention Center

The Listening Ear Crisis Intervention Center has been open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year since July 1969. Volunteers are trained to deal with many crises, including depression, suicide, loneliness, sexual assault, and grief.

Sexual Assault Program

The Sexual Assault Program works with sexual assault survivors and all other who are impacted by sexual violence. They provide counseling and support groups to MSU students.
