Department of Advertising + Public Relations
The Advertising + Public Relations curriculum is designed to teach the basic principles of advertising and public relations to our undergraduate students. You'll get the opportunity to take courses in the creative, media, management and research areas, ensuring the richest possible background for your future career.
The Department of Advertising + PR offers four Linked Bachelor's to Master's Degree programs that offer students the opportunity to count some of your undergraduate credits toward a graduate degree. Advertising Creative (BA) students can link with either the Advertising MA or the Public Relations MA (BA/MA). Advertising Managment (BS) students can also link with either the Advertising MA or the Public Relations MA (BS/MA). Both majors are also able to link with the College level MA program in Health and Risk Communication.

Saleem Alhabash is an Associate Professor of Public Relations and Social Media at the Department of Advertising + Public Relations, studying the persuasive effects of social media.
Throughout his academic and research career, Steinhardt has studied narratives and how they influence decision-making about health and risk. After receiving a master’s and doctorate from Cornell University in 2015, Steinhardt worked at Cornell as a research associate to study tobacco warning labels in low income and urban populations.
