The goal of the ComArtSci Creative Challenge sponsored by the MSU Federal Credit Union is to encourage MSU students to foster civic engagement by promoting inclusivity and diversity awareness using creative expression.
This year's challenged students to design a "positive propaganda style poster to promote, influence and inspire conversations around one or more of the following themes: diversity, inclusivity, social justice, unity, civil rights or cultural differences and appreciation."
After a round of selection, 10 finalists were chosen. The top three posters with the most ‘likes’ on Facebook was awarded cash prizes from the MSUFCU.
Journalism senior Jordan Jennings took 1st place with "Underwear," an abstract portrait project which garnered nearly 800 'likes.' Bothered by society’s objectification and unequal treatment of women, Jennings designed her poster to embrace Underwear’s graphic beauty, emphasizing each woman’s individuality and colorful collective dynamism.
"To see that my work was well received by peers and professionals alike boosted my confidence in the project’s potential," she said. "I am extremely thankful to ComArtSci for providing outlets for myself and others to be creative while gaining career-building exposure and financial support!"
