The goal of this course is to discuss evidence-based approaches to communicating with policymakers. We will discuss evidence that communicating with policymakers can influence policy, discuss evidence-based strategies for gaining access, messaging, engaging constituents to effectively influence policy, and overcoming barriers to effectively communicating with policymakers, among other topics. The course is designed to help groups to engage in better policy advocacy by incorporating the most up-to-date evidence about communication and the policy process.
This course will also feature a Q&A with Elissa Slotkin, U.S. representative from Michigan's 7th congressional district.
