On Dec. 13, the Strategic Communication Master’s Program will graduate its largest cohort of students in program history – 26.
This fall’s students will join 40 other MSU StratCom alumni, who have completed the online professional master’s degree.
Since the program’s inception in 2017, director Jason Archer has not only seen the growth in number of students, but also in its extension of community that it provides to students all over the world.
"With students from six states and one in Germany, the program continues to evolve from our humble beginnings,” Archer said. “As we grow, we don’t forget the focus is the student and the transformation that happens both inside and outside the classroom.
“It’s our privilege to welcome this cohort as Spartan Alumni.”
MSU StratCom has 126 students and a variety of outreach tools to help engage students and help them feel connected to each other and MSU – from a Facebook group to webinars to in-person meet-ups.
Fall 2019 graduate Samantha Troutman said MSU StratCom has been a nice complement to her career.
“I’ve greatly enjoyed the last two years as part of the StratCom program – it was a perfect fit to develop my communication skills and knowledge, while also working full time at MSU,” Troutman said. “Being able to learn from professors with a range of expertise and experiences really made each class uniquely worthwhile.”
The advanced degree ceremony for doctoral, educational specialist and master's candidates will take place at 3:30 p.m. Dec. 13 at the Breslin Student Events Center. For more information, and to livestream the ceremony, visit https://commencement.msu.edu/.
