Field experiences send ComArtSci students to hotspots of creativity across the U.S., where they have the opportunity to meet and connect with alumni working in industry.
These trips give students the chance to travel to cultural hubs, while participating in behind-the-scenes tours, rare studio opportunities and exclusive networking events. Field experiences offered at MSU’s College of Communication Arts and Sciences include destinations like Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington D.C. and New York City.
In advance of a trip, students attend several sessions to study the media industry and research the companies they will visit during their stay. With the help of their professors and Spartan alumni, they set out to achieve a set of goals that range from building professional relationships to understanding what it takes to spend a day in the life of a particular profession.
Made possible by connections with alumni, field experiences have sent students to some of the leading creative agencies in the nation. Past company visits or tours have included Miramax, Fox Studios, Deutsch, mOcean, Universal McCann and the Walt Disney Company.
Not only do these experiences create fond memories, but they also lead to rewarding internships and careers for many students. The next deadline to apply for a Field Experiences is Nov. 30, 2018. Apply here.
On Nov. 27, 2018, ComArtSci is raising funds to support future field experiences for students during Give Green Day.
