Daune Rensing is a first-generation college graduate and higher education professional with more than twenty years of experience at Michigan State University. She is passionate about helping students feel prepared, connected, and confident as they transition into college and their careers. Driven by personalized, relationship-based support, she works to reduce uncertainty, build belonging early, and create clear academic and career pathways students can trust.
Through her work in advising, outreach, and program leadership in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences, Daune has designed and taught transition courses, launched mentoring programs, led summer initiatives, and built strong partnerships across campus and with families and schools. Students frequently describe her as supportive, proactive, and deeply invested in their success.
Daune earned her Ph.D. in Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education from Michigan State University. Her doctoral research examined how strengthening white women’s commitment to antiracism can improve the college-going experience for students.
