Communication Graduate Soo Shin Accepts Faculty Position at University of Hawaii

MSU post-doctoral researcher and Research Associate Soo Shin will become a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of Communicology at the University of Hawaii at Manoa effective this fall.

Dr. Shin has worked on project teams concerning computer-mediated communication, interpersonal communication and persuasion. Her emphasis is the study of online impressions, information perceptions and online conflicts among people.
 
Shin earned her Ph.D. in the MSU Department of Communication.  Prior to returning to Michigan State as a post-doc, she was a visiting professor at Sungkyunkwan University, and had prior experience teaching at Seoul National University and Korea University.

Currently, Dr. Shin plays a key role at Michigan State on a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation-funded study concerning the diffusion of promising health innovations from developing countries to the United States.
