TaQuinda Cylar is an award-winning integrated marketing and communications leader, educator, speaker, and founder of T.Marie Media Group, an integrated communications firm serving nonprofits, faith-based organizations, and purpose-driven brands.
With more than 20 years of experience, TaQuinda has developed and led communications and marketing strategies across higher education, nonprofit, healthcare, automotive, faith-based, and lifestyle sectors. She currently serves as Communications and Marketing Director at The Yunion, where she leads strategic communications, marketing, brand storytelling, and community engagement.
A two-time graduate of Eastern Michigan University, TaQuinda holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and a master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communications. She serves as a part-time lecturer in Michigan State University’s Advertising and Public Relations Department, where she brings her industry experience into the classroom and prepares the next generation of communications professionals.
Teaching Philosophy: TaQuinda believes the best way to learn communications is to connect theory to real life, giving students practical skills, confidence, and opportunities to apply what they learn.
An active leader in the communications profession, TaQuinda serves on the PRSA East Central District Board of Directors and the leadership team of the PRSA Black Voices Affinity Group. She is a past president of PRSA Detroit and made history as the first African American woman to serve in that role. TaQuinda is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Through her professional and academic work, she is passionate about helping people find their voice, tell meaningful stories, and communicate with purpose.
