Naadiyah, is a PhD student in the Department of Media and Information. She graduated with a master's degree in Communication from the University of New Mexico (UNM). She earned her bachelor's degree in Development Planning from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. She was nominated by the Department of Communication and Journalism, UNM as the 2024 Graduation Convocation Speaker. She was also recognized as UNM's inspiring graduate of the year 2024. She was awarded the Brandt Fellowship Award, student category by the College of Communication Arts and Sciences, MSU, and the American Association of University Women (AAUW) Albuquerque branch Scholarship (2023-2024), UNM. Her research interests broadly cover health, environmental communication, strategic communication, social justice, media, and emerging health technologies. She focuses on advancing health information, reducing inequalities, promoting social justice, and sustainably advancing theory, community-based engagement, and interdisciplinary collaborative research. She strives to bring positive transformation to the lives of women, children, and deprived communities through research in communication, media, and information scholarships, policy advancement, and advocacy. As an upcoming scholar-teacher, she's interested in teaching and learning pedagogical innovations. She strives to groom a generation of critical thinkers, and nurture collaborative learners and problem solvers.
