Lolo Robison (M.A., Michigan State University) is a Professor of Practice at Michigan State University and a practicing public relations and marketing professional at the Capital Area Transportation Authority. Robison has served as a professional communicator and public relations professional in various industries since 1992, including public transportation, insurance brokerages, agencies, newspaper and magazine niche marketing, credit union management, association management and banking.
Robison serves on several local boards of directors, state and national association committees and task forces, and is an appointed commissioner to the Martin Luther King Jr. Commission of Mid-Michigan. In 2019, Robison founded and currently co-chairs CATA's Diversity Equity and Inclusion Task Force. She received her certificate in Diversity and Inclusion from Cornell University. She actively networks with regional DEI chiefs and executives, and supports countless community events and programs on behalf of the region's most marginalized citizens. In March 2023, Robison graduated from the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce's inaugural DEI Executive Roundtable. She serves as a mentor to emerging program participants. Throughout her career, Robison has successfully advised executives and led special teams through crises and conflicts; communication campaigns and special events.
Robison strives to teach students writing competency and other important public relations skills. Her goal is to bring out the best in her students by encouraging independent and critical thinking; problem-solving; empathy, compassion and respectful expression of thought. Robison, her employees and students have received awards from the American Public Transportation Association, Public Relations Society of America and American Advertising Federation for a variety of campaigns. Today, Robison leads a 15-member customer experience team, nine-member marketing and PR staff, and four marketing, advertising and public relations agencies.
Robison is married to Dane Robison, an MSU alum, professional photographer and owner of TimeFrame Photography. Together, they raised four children. Robison owns Crackin' Crow Pottery, where she works as a professional ceramic artist. She is also an avid textile artist.
