Bio

Hyuntaek Lee is a doctoral student in the Department of Advertising and Public Relations. His research interests connect dots on social media, consumer behavior, misinformation, and ethics. Lee received bachelor's degree in business administration at Yonsei University and Master of Mass Communication Studies at Dongguk University in Seoul, South Korea. Lee also got Master of Mass Communication at Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications, Arizona State University.
Prior to joining Michigan State, Lee worked as a social media assistant editor and journalist in Chosun Ilbo, South Korea's largest newspaper. He was the first board of director from Asian country at Investigative Reporters and Editors (IRE). He has working experiences as PR professional at JTBC TV, South Korea and Edelman Global Advisory. Lee taught at Yoonseyoung Journalism School, Ewha Womans University. He received the Honorable Mention at IIE (Institute of International Education) Center for International Opportunities Empower Award 2024.
 
Lee is Obama Foundation’s Asia Pacific Leader 2025-2026.
