Dana Gaziz is a Ph.D. student in Information and Media at Michigan State University. Her research interests include health and risk communication, digital communication, strategic message design, and behavior change, with a particular interest in how communication can be used to address complex public health issues.
She holds an M.A. in Communication from MSU. She has taught Effective Communication and Leadership (master’s level) and Human Communication (undergraduate level) courses. Her co-authored work has been featured in the International Journal of Human–Computer Interaction (2025) and Healthcare (2025).
Before beginning her doctoral studies, Dana worked in strategic, public, and health communication in Kazakhstan, including at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kazakhstan Health Managers Association. Her recent industry work on organ donation awareness in Kazakhstan resulted in a series of documentary interviews with organ transplant recipients. Her multimedia experience also includes producing and developing QYZMET TALKS, a podcast featuring conversations on public service, leadership, and professional development.
