Matty May is a versatile and values-driven leader with 30 years of experience in media sales. Her combined interest in advertising, communication and service crystallized when she was working in the ad sales department for The State News while attending Michigan State University.
Since graduating from MSU with a degree in advertising, Matty has enjoyed being a key sales contributor and client partner at Turner Broadcasting, DoubleClick, and Facebook supporting clients across a wide range of categories. She currently leads a convergent sales team for Paramount Advertising in Chicago. Over her 20+ years with Paramount she has enjoyed cultivating strong relationships with clients and colleagues, inspiring and energizing teams, and demonstrating exceptional adaptability in the rapidly changing environment of media.
In addition to her corporate role, Matty is a Certified Life and Leadership Coach. Always eager to learn more about personal and professional development, Matty has earned multiple coaching certifications including the International Coaching Federation, Gallup Strengths, Positive Intelligence, EQi2.0 and iPec. These skills combined with Matty’s passion for people, a genuine curiosity and active listening approach, fosters growth and development for her clients, her team and community.
Volunteering brings Matty great joy and fulfillment. She mentors many young professionals through personal connections as well as programs such as She Runs It and Women in Communications at Michigan State. She is a long standing Board Member and former President of Friends of Amundsen High School and has also taught religious education to 2nd graders at her parish for 6 years. She facilitates new hire orientations for new Paramount employees and has run parenting workshops.
Matty resides in the city of Chicago and is a proud wife and mother of two wonderful kids, and one incredible dog. She enjoys reading, music, food, travel, connecting with friends and family, learning, F1, the Chicago Cubs, and lots of media entertainment right down to the commercials.
