Bio

Huzaifa is a doctoral student at the School of Journalism. His research focuses on the intersection of journalism, democracy, and new media, aligning with the broader themes of media sociology and political communication.

He holds a master’s degree in mass communication and journalism from the University of Dhaka and a master’s in journalism and media communication from Colorado State University (CSU).

Huzaifa presented his research at conferences, including the International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR), the AEJMC Midwinter, and the World Social Science Association.

Before transitioning to academia, Huzaifa worked as an investigative journalist in Bangladesh, reporting on human rights abuses, political violence, militancy, and corruption. His investigative work has earned recognition from the Global Investigative Journalist Network (GIJN) and awards from organizations such as Prothom Alo, Crime Reporter’s Association of Bangladesh (CRAB) and Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB).

Huzaifa has also participated in and been recognized by prestigious professional and leadership programs, including the Edward R. Murrow Research and Investigation Program for Journalists, the Chevening South Asia Journalism Fellowship (SAJP), and the Bangladesh Youth Delegation Program.
