School of Journalism Student Nic Antaya Wins Seven Photography Awards

Michigan State University School of Journalism student Nic Antaya won seven awards from the Indiana News Photographers Association in its annual photography contest.
This photo by Nic Antaya, of a man competing in a mud volleyball tournament, won first place in the portrait contest of the Indiana News Photographers Association contest.

Michigan State University School of Journalism student Nic Antaya won seven awards from the Indiana News Photographers Association, including College Photographer of the Year.

Antaya won first-place awards in the news, features and portrait categories. He won second-place honors in both sports and features.

He also earned an honorable mention in features. All awards were in the college student category.

Antaya was an intern for six months in 2018 at the Jasper Herald.

The contest was judged at Ball State University on February 23.
