Bio

Erika is a second-year PhD student from Delaware, Ohio. She earned her Bachelor's of Science in psychology and communication with minors in cognitive science and communication sciences and disorders and a concentration in health communication in 2022. She earned her master's in communicative sciences and disorders in 2024, during which she completed her master's thesis, Stuttering and Stigma: A Health Communication Perspective, under the guidance of her advisor, Dr. J. Scott Yaruss. 

Roles

Currently, Erika is a Research Assistant and the transcription manager for the Spartan Stuttering Lab.

Research and Teaching

Erika's current research interests include stuttering, stigma reduction, attitudes, and perceptions of stuttering throughout society and the effects on the lived experience of stuttering.
