Daune is the Student Success Advisor for all MA Strategic Communication students and those working towards certificates in Digital Media, Media Analytics, or Organizational Communication for Leadership. She helps students transition into the program and assists them at all stages of their academic career. This includes answering questions about classes, creating an academic plan to fit each individual lifestyle, enrolling students in their classes, monitoring student success throughout the program, and celebrating at graduation.
Prior to working with Strategic Communication, Daune was an undergraduate advisor for advertising and communication majors. She also advised for the sales leadership minor, was a member of the communication curriculum committee, and ran the NHL Stenden study abroad program in the Netherlands. Before that role, she worked with student-athletes as an academic advisor and coach.
Daune is married to Michigan State's Head Men's Soccer Coach, Damon Rensing, and has two children. She is also a third-year PhD student in the Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education (HALE) program. Her research interests are focused on finding ways to improve the Black male graduation rate.
