Darien Harris was hired as a member of Michigan State Football program’s support Staff in 2020, and currently serves the athletic department as Asst. AD/NIL & Special Advisor to the Athletic Director. Originally hired as the first ever Director of Player Engagement in program history, Darien has spearheaded the off-the-field efforts of the program since transitioning over from player to staff member. Prior to being hired full time at MSU, Darien spent time in the marketing field with Quicken Loans (now Rocket Mortgage) and Biggby Coffee, and with Big Ten Network as an analyst and color commentator. Darien also spent two years as a Graduate Assistant at MSU in student-athlete support services. A 2015 Journalism graduate and graduate of Eli Broad College of Business' #1 ranked Master of Science in Marketing Research program in 2019, Darien has been a proud Spartan since 2011. As a four year letter winner at linebacker for the Michigan State football team, Darien was a part of the winningest senior class in program history (43 wins), won two Big Ten titles, won
the 100th Rose Bowl, the 2015 Cotton Bowl and played in the 2015 College Football Playoffs serving as one of three captains for that season (as voted by his teammates). After his career at MSU, Darien suited up professionally for the Cincinnati Bengals of the NFL and the Ottawa RedBlacks of the CFL.
