Bernhard earned his Bachelor's, Master's and Ph.D. degree in medical engineering at the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg in Germany. At the Division of Phoniatrics and Pediatric Audiology of the University Hospital Erlangen he contributed to several projects utilizing Computational Fluid Dynamics simulations (CFD), ex-vivo larynx experiments, and high-speed video (HSV) analysis to gain new insights into the phonation process.
Since 2024 at Michigan State University (MSU), Bernhard is currently a Postdoctoral Scholar with the Voice and Speach Lab at the Department of Communicative Sciences & Disorders (CSD).
