Alex earned a B.A. in Communication with a minor in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Arizona before earning an M.A. in Communicology from the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa. After beginning his doctoral studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara, he is currently a doctoral student in the Department of Communication at MSU.
Alex applies an evolutionary psychological paradigm to human interaction, exploring topics like self-presentation, group identification, and alliance formation. He is also interested in message processing, mis- and dis-information, and gaslighting, in both interpersonal and political contexts.
