Lori was born and raised in Detroit and attended Royal Oak Shrine High School Leadership came early to Lori as she was elected Class President in both her Junior and Senior years. Enrolling in Michigan State University, Lori earned a BA in Communications & Advertising - Class of 1982. Following her MSU graduation, Lori accepted a media research position at Campbell-Ewald Advertising in Warren, MI and her advertising career began.
Lori is now retired from her role as Chief Executive Officer of Havas Media North America and CEO of Global Brands. With over 35 years of experience as an integrated media pioneer, Lori directed 2,100 Havas Media employees across eight North American offices. During her tenure, Havas Media experienced unprecedented national fiscal growth.
As a keynote speaker at the 2016 Adverting Research Foundation Audience Measurement Summit in New York, Lori presented Convergent Agility: Landing Insights into Action, an industry-first concept of applying the agile technology development method to media planning, buying and consumer analytics. Lori was a guest lecturer at many advertising industry events, corporate meetings and is a former Board Member of the International Radio & Television Society and The Ad Council of America.
Prior to her role as CEO of Havas Media NA, Lori managed the Havas Chicago office and was awarded the prestigious Chicago Advertising Federation Bill Harmon Leadership Award and earned a National Advertising Effie Award. Lori held several executive media leadership positions at Omnicom-PHD Detroit, Doner Company Detroit and J. Walter Thompson Advertising.
As an avid volunteer, Lori was elected to leadership positions with the YMCA of Metro Detroit, The Junior League of Birmingham, The Birmingham-Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce, The Adcraft Club of Detroit, The Women’s Athletic Club of Chicago, MSU Alumni Club of Chicago and is a current member of the Xavier University Presidents Advisory Board in Cincinnati.
Lori is a guest lecturer at Teachers College - Columbia University, New York partnering with Dr. Ruth Westheimer lecturing on the impact of media & technology on human relationships.
Lori and her husband Ken enjoy sharing time between Chicago and Steamboat Springs. They are dedicated parishioners at Old St. Pat’s Parish in downtown Chicago and in 2015, the Hiltz’s were honored with the prestigious Heart of the Crossroads Award from the Old St. Pat’s community and a Hiltz family crest was created in their honor. And most recently Lori was presented the 2019 Shrine High School Distinguished Alumni Award.
Lori was a finisher of the 1989 New York City Marathon, the 1990 Detroit International Marathon and the 2012, 2016 and 2018 Chicago Marathons. She is passionate about downhill skiing, golfing, wine tasting, MSU.
