Haz Alwattar

Haz Alwattar is founder of Group HazM, a production and management consulting firm. Haz is the editor-in-chief and host of the Arabs in Media podcast and Substack, and is a touring stand-up comic based in Los Angeles.

As the son of Iraqi immigrants, Haz’s original destiny was Engineering at MSU, but communications was what constantly called to him. Campus radio at MSU was where Haz started a journey to commercial radio as talent, then into programming, and ultimately as a Spanish radio executive at companies like Univision, Meruelo Media, and Entravision.   From traditional media to new media, Haz applied his work with on-air talent, data analysis, programming strategy and leadership roles to develop a podcast coaching and production company. His studio now resides in Hollywood as part of a Stand-Up comedy venue that produces content across channels and platforms for the creative community in LA.
