Brian O'Connor elected to Human Rights Campaign board of governors

Brian O’Connor (ComArtSci ’91), a ComArtSci Fellow and former alumni board president, has recently been elected to the National Board of Governors of the Human Rights Campaign, the largest civil rights organization working to achieve full equality for all LGBTQ+ Americans. He will also serve as co-chair of the Palm Springs (CA) Steering Committee.

In these roles he will engage and organize volunteer leaders to drive the efforts and activity of the local steering committee. This includes donor engagement and fundraising to support the work of HRC, which remains focused on electing fair-minded politicians who are advocates and allies of the community and who align with HRC’s mission for equality.

HRC’s Board of Governors plays a vital volunteer leadership role locally and regionally serving as ambassadors to members, elected officials and strategically aligned partner organizations also committed to equality, diversity, equity and inclusion.

O’Connor is also serving as chairperson leading a volunteer planning committee for the 22nd Annual HRC Palm Springs Garden Party fundraiser taking place on Saturday, November 4, 2023.
