Youjin earned her Master of Arts in health and risk communication from Michigan State University and in communication from Ewha Womans University. She is currently a doctoral student at the Department of Communication and affiliated with the national social norms center at Michigan State University.
Her research interests lie at the intersection of Persuasion and Health and Risk communication. Particularly, her main interest includes the impact of persuasive messages on risk perceptions/behavioral decisions across different contexts. Her research examines the social-psychological processes underlying these message effects—for example, how emotions and social/cultural factors influence people’s preventive behaviors.
