Nikki McClaran is a doctoral student in the Department of Advertising & Public Relations. Her research primarily investigates three areas from a media psychology perspective: social norms, health and risk communication, and narrative persuasion. Specifically, her research looks at how social norms regarding health behaviors are influenced by narrative media, such as entertainment. Before coming to MSU, Nikki received her M.S. in mass communication at Florida State University (2017), and B.S. in sociology and public relations at the University of Central Missouri (2015).
