With more than 10 years of experience in journalism, communications, and marketing, Melissa Priebe is a professional storyteller and social media strategist. She works as Communications Manager for ComArtSci, producing digital content, print publications and social media projects for one of the oldest communications colleges in the nation.
Priebe holds a B.A. in Journalism/Integrated Media from Miami University of Ohio. She began her career as a journalist and editor, covering the beats of education, arts, and health for daily newspapers. She translated her experience into a position in multimedia communications for St. Catherine University in Minnesota, where she discovered a passion for working with faculty, students, and alumni to tell their stories. She has worked for many colleges and nonprofits since then, including the Minnesota Historical Society, Mitchell | Hamline School of Law (formerly William Mitchell), and Minnesota State, where she recently worked for two community colleges. She has written for the cover of Minnesota Monthly, as well as City Pages, Scene in the West Metro, Mitchell on Law, St. Catherine University Magazine, and other publications.
To engage with emerging media, Priebe has designed and co-hosted social media forums, served as a social media advisor, and presented on social media panels. In her free time, she pursues her interests in creative writing, art, and the outdoors. Her fiction, poetry, and artwork have been selected for publication in several literary journals, and she continues to publish creative works.
