Leticia Lana Cherchiglia is a PhD candidate in the Department of Media and Information. Originally from Brazil, her research is mainly focused on the areas of User Experience (UX), avatar design and effects, and games for learning. Drawing from psychological and educational theories and following UX standards, Leticia's dissertation aims to explore how virtual mentors' design in the STEM Game Crew Website can impact middle-schoolers' STEM metrics (e.g., belief in being able to learn STEM topics). Upon graduation, Leticia plans on working in UX research/design to positively influence industry, academia, and society.
