Bio

Brandon earned his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts from Michigan State University.

Research and Teaching

Brandon's research focuses on interpersonal communication across different contexts. Specifically, Brandon is interested in applying interpersonal communication theory and concepts to different contexts to improve communication outcomes for vulnerable populations. Specifically, Brandon's research has focused on improving provider-patient communication and the correctional officer-client relationship for women on probation and parole. His dissertation work examines the influence of self-disclosure and social support-seeking strategies on responses and social support offered to individuals experiencing symptoms of mental illness.
