ComArtSci Congratulates Graduates of the Class of 2019

MSU's College of Communication Arts and Sciences celebrated the commencement of graduating seniors in the Class of 2019 on Friday, May 3, 2019. The ceremony was held at at the Jack Breslin Student Events Center on the campus of Michigan State University in East Lansing. 

"Today's celebration ceremony represents the culmination of discipline, intellectual work and creative imagination—certainly no small accomplishment, " said Melanie Foster, of the MSU Board of Trustees. "Our wish is that you will always be leaders who generously use your intelligence and your knowledge to improve the quality of life for your community, to advance the common good and to renew hope in the human spirit."

Administration, faculty, staff, families and guests joined the students in honoring their graduation. Students cheered for each of the college's five departments, celebrating the accomplishments of the departments of Advertising + Public Relations, Communication, Media & Information, Communicative Sciences and Disorders and the MSU School of Journalism. 

"We are the first college of communication in the nation. Our students and alumni make it the very best," said Dean Prabu David. "We have 56,000 alumni worldwide and 875 more will join them tonight. Like those before you, you will leave a unique mark on our campus."

Prabu offered his congratulations, and wished new alumni of ComArtSci success on their journey.  

"We truly believe in you," said Prabu. "You will accomplish great things in the years to come."

Many graduates also joined the university-wide undergraduate convocation on Friday, May 3, 2019.
