Get a Big Ten Experience at the MSU School of Journalism

The Michigan State University School of Journalism, in partnership with the Michigan Interscholastic Press Association, annually invites high school seniors, juniors and sophomores to bring their parents to visit campus. You will have the opportunity to tour J-School facilities, talk to faculty and students, and learn more about how a degree in journalism from MSU can help you change the world.

Journalism Day is Friday, Dec. 1. This event is free for high school sophomores, juniors and seniors attending with their parents. We’ll make arrangements for you to meet with faculty and tour our facilities. Coffee, juice and pastries will be served in the morning. A pizza lunch is included as part of your event registration.

You may want to pair this visit with a campus tour arranged through the Office of Admissions. The Office of Admissions runs guided campus tours (pre-registrations may be required) for prospective, admitted and transfer students. Guided tours for prospective students typically start with a 1 p.m. meeting at the MSU Union, followed by a walking tour of campus at 2 p.m. Dress appropriately for the weather!

The Journalism Day program will start at 9 a.m. and end at 12:30 p.m. For more information, contact the MIPA office at 517-353-6761 or mipa@msu.edu.
